My name is Amanda Mae Downey and I’m a freelance writer and English student from Connecticut. I have a deep love for history, sailing, and navigation. At a very early age I was convinced that I was going to become the captain of a fishing ship until I realized that I don’t look that great in reflective orange nylon.
In high school, I began to write poetry and short stories which I posted on the internet under a pen name.
I’ve ghostwritten several short stories and other fictional works. My poetry has also been featured at the 20th Annual Mad River Literary Festival and my poem anno Domini has been published in the 2017 edition of the Mad River Anthology.
And I did follow my dreams of becoming the captain of a ship—or at least I have a couple of characters doing just that in my WIP, Corvus.
